 'GAEL'S FIRE' 

RT Burns Club held a very special charity evening on the 25th March 2011, raising £1700 towards a Tay Memorial, in memory of those who lost their lives in the Tay Rail Bridge Disaster of 1879. Above CEO of the RT Burns Club, presenting the cheque.

 RT BURNS CLUB FIRST EVENT IN AMERICA

 Burnsian and Honorary Friend Mike Ogletree kindly performed at our first ever RT Burns Club Event In America At Pient o Grwr, Altamont, Chatham, NY on the 2nd September 2010.

                            BURNS COTTAGE EVENT 24th July 2010

RT Burns Club Held Their First Event As A Federated Club In The Red Room Of The Education Pavilion, Adjoining Burns Cottage on the 24th July 2010. It Was A Very Enjoyable And Friendly Evening, Attended By Around 30 People. Before The Event There Was A Tour Of The New Burns Birthplace Museum With Curator David Hopes And A Tour Of Burns Cottage With Donald Kay. Followed By A Wreath Laying Ceremony. We Also Had A Raffle To Raise Money For The Burns Birthplace Museum And Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research, Scotland. Our CEO Reg Tait And Donald Kay Presented A Cheque On Our Behalf For £370 To Pamela Walker From Breakthrough, Photo Above. 37 Trees (£185) Were Also Donated To The Robert Burns Grove, Trees For Life Charity Restoring The Beautiful And Historic Caledonian Forest, Donated By Members In Conjunction With The Event.

     Òran Mór, meaning the 'great melody of life' or 'big song'



Our RT Burns Club honoured this special 250th Burns Anniversary year with our first event and gathering, a wonderful and unique international concert at The Venue Oran Mor, Glasgow on the 28th July 2009. Some of our Honorary Members (listed below) kindly performed for free. All the monies we raised through ticket and raffle sales, amounting to £1400, went equally to The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Yorkhill Sick Childrens Hospital In Glasgow.
