Scotland’s Tartan Day - The American Connection Itis said that the American Declaration of Independence was inspired bythe Declaration of Arbroath and this may be one of the reasons whythere are such strong links between the USA and Scotland. However, oneof the other reasons is the vast numbers of Scots who emigrated toAmerica and their descendants' proud desire to remember their Scottishheritage – and be recognised as Scots Americans.
